October 2, 1991 - October 1, 2022

Reade Collins was a beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend.

Reade struggled with Substance Use Disorder for a number of years and died from an accidental drug overdose. Reade was very committed to the need for recovery, and had entered treatment and attained sobriety for much of the last 4 years of his life. He was waiting for entrance into a program at the time of his passing.

Reade was a self-taught musician and wrote his own songs. He had an extraordinary way with words and was a prolific poet. Reade was intelligent and articulate, an artist and an athlete. Reade was trained as an EMT, and had also become a Certified Oral Surgical Assistant working in Los Gatos. Reade was a guitarist for the band Louisville Lip, out of San Jose, California, playing gigs in Los Angeles, the Bay Area, Portland and Seattle. A man of many talents, his disease did not allow him to maintain longevity in any given endeavor and the last 4 years of his life were dedicated to fighting that disease.

We will remember Reade for his bravery and courage, his tenacity and strength each

time he rose up after a fall, his steadfast love for his family, the gift of his presence in

our lives and the lessons he taught us for the time he was with us. He will be forever

missed. How come we love you? All the time...
